France Pre??eren audiobooks

- national award for the best design of the year 2001

A multilingual audiobook series based on poetry by France Pre??eren, contemporary (and in some cases translator) of such great Romantic poets as Mickiewicz, Pushkin, lord Byron ... Up there with the best of them but largely unknown because of his choice to write in Slovenian and help transform this marginalized language into a vehicle for the high Romantic poetry of his time.
Pre??eren’s poems are now available as poetry should be: for listening, not silent reading. It is not by chance that Slovenian has the same word for “poem” and “song”.
The recordings include a complete version of Pre??eren’s most famous work, Sonetni venec (A wreath of sonnets). This is not an ordinary sonnet cycle: the last line of one sonnet becomes the first line of the next, intertwining all fourteen sonnets to form a “garland” charged with emotion and symbolism. The first lines of the fourteen sonnets form another sonnet, and the first letters of these lines form the words “Primicovi Julji” ("to Julija Primic”, his unrequited love). Also included is another remarkable series of sonnets, The Sonnets of Unhappiness (Sonetje nesreče).
The series contains three audiobooks:
